The Amaz!ng Meeting 2011: Speakers Announced and Registration Opened
LAS VEGAS—The James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) today announced the official speaker lineup for The Amaz!ng Meeting 2011 in Las Vegas. The Amaz!ng Meeting (TAM) is an annual celebration of science, skepticism and critical thinking, where skeptical thinkers from around the world gather to share ideas and learn from a host of distinguished guest speakers and panelists.
“People come to TAM to learn, to be entertained, and to enjoy the warmth and community of hundreds of like-minded skeptical people,” JREF President D.J. Grothe said. “At the center of all of that is the TAM program. We’re proud to say that we think this is one of the best programs we’ve ever had.”

This year’s TAM will also feature as one of its themes a special space science and skepticism focus, titled “TAM 9 From Outer Space” with a keynote address from science superstar and TAM favorite Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Evening entertainment will include a Game Show and Variety Hour with Skepchick editor Rebecca Watson, mentalist Max Maven’s celebrated show “Thinking in Person,” a night of skeptical stand-up comedians presented by Showtime’s Paul Provenza, and a private party put on by magician and skeptic Penn Jillette (one half of the duo Penn and Teller), called “The Rock and Roll, Donut and Bacon Party”.
