What are the registration rates and deadlines?

The following regular registration and package rates apply until July 9, 2015:

$299.00 – Single Day Pass [No Conference Meals]
$399.00 – Budget Registration [No Conference Meals]
$499.00 – Basic Registration
$549.00 – Standard Package Deal [Basic Registration + All Workshop Pass] — Save $50 over a la carte pricing!

Registration will close on July 9, 2015 or earlier if sold out.

The early bird discount officially ends at 11:59pm EDT on May 15, 2015.

What is included in the registration fee?

Basic Registration includes admission to all four days of TAM, including the catered opening reception on Thursday evening (July 16); main stage conference sessions on Friday (July 17), Saturday (July 18), and Sunday (July 19); and the live Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge event Sunday evening (July 19). Basic Registration also includes a conference t-shirt and souvenir program; conference meal tickets for a continental breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; conference meal tickets for a buffet lunch on Friday and Saturday; and coffee breaks during the conference. The “Budget Registration” option does not include the conference meal tickets, but includes everything else listed as part of “Basic Registration”. Single day passes are also available.

Accommodation costs are not included in the conference registration. Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements, but we recommend the conference hotel Tropicana Las Vegas for the best value.

When are the meals that are included with Basic Registration fee?

Continental breakfast is provided Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:30-9:00 am in the conference center. A buffet lunch is also provided on Friday and Saturday from 12:45-2:00 pm, and you will be required to use the meal tickets for each meal that are provided to you during on-site registration. Note that meals are not included in the Budget Registration option, but that you can purchase separate meal tickets from the registration desk for $35/person.

What events are not covered in the registration fee?

During the four days of TAM, there are a number of separately ticketed events that supplement the main programming of the conference. These include the skeptic workshops during the day on Thursday (July 16) and in the afternoon on Sunday (July 19), the ticketed evening shows, screenings, concerts and parties. Additionally, the exclusive VIP fundraising luncheons with Randi and friends, the fundraising dinner featuring the Skeptics Guide to the Universe, The Nigerian Spam Scam show, the Festival of the Spoken Nerds show, and The Amaz!ng Celebration – James Randi Tribute event each have an additional ticketing fee.

What is included with the package options?

In order to simplify the registration process we now offer several package options that include both Basic Registration and various ticket configurations.

  • The Standard Package Deal includes Basic Registration and the All Workshop Pass and saves $50 over separate pricing.
  • Once the evening programs are all confirmed, additional packages will be made available inclusive of these tickets.

AT THE CONFERENCE

Where do I go to pick up my badge?

Badges and other conference materials may be picked up from the TAM Registration Desk beginning at 5PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

Please ask at one of the information desks in the Tropicana Las Vegas lobby for directions to the Conference Center where TAM Registration Desk will be located. A TAM welcome table will be also located in the lobby to help direct you.

Once I get to TAM, what can I expect?

To maximize the value of your TAM registration, we try to keep the schedule as packed with educational and entertaining content as possible. We have nearly non-stop programing scheduled from 8AM until after midnight for the four days of TAM, and we encourage you to see as much as you can. A detailed printed schedule will be available at the registration desk.

What is your advice for making the most of the event?

We encourage you to introduce yourself to as many of the outstanding guests and speakers and fellow attendees as you can. If you are new to TAM, be sure to visit the Forum table to get a “1st TAMmer” sticker, and look for people wearing “TAMbassador” buttons, who will do their best to show you around and help you get the most out of the conference.

Are there any gathering spots outside of the conference area?

The hotel bar is always a popular hangout and meeting spot for many of the hundreds of like-minded TAM attendees. Please note that any informal gatherings that take place outside of the scheduled activities of the Conference are separate from JREF and TAM.

What is the best way to get updates at the conference?


Daily email updates will be sent to attendees during TAM. We also suggest following @JREF on Twitter for official updates, or that you listen to announcements from the main stage.  Check out our page on Lanyrd for updates and to download the mobile app.

How does JREF handle safety concerns?

The Amazing Meeting, while a private event, is held at the Tropicana Las Vegas, which is open to the public. The safety of our attendees and speakers is a priority and we engage professional consultants with decades of experience on-site to assist us in dealing with any matters should they arise at the event. If you encounter a problem within the conference area, please immediately report the situation to TAM staff or hotel security. In the event that hotel or JREF event staff are not immediately nearby, please ask one of our many TAM volunteers for assistance. TAM volunteers have been trained in how to assist you, and can be identified by the word “volunteer” on the back of their conference t-shirt.

Can I volunteer for the JREF at TAM?

There are a number of volunteer opportunities at TAM, including in the areas of operations, speaker support, hospitality and registration, and volunteers help JREF maximize our limited resources while putting on the conference. If you would like to volunteer at the conference, please learn more and apply here. Note: We appreciate our TAM volunteers but unfortunately we are unable to provide complimentary registration or meals for volunteers.

Are there accommodations for special needs at TAM?

Yes, the Tropicana Las Vegas provides for ADA compliant rooms and accessible conference spaces. If you have any special considerations or concerns, please email TAM@randi.org or consult with a staff member at the conference, or contact the Tropicana Las Vegas directly at 800.462.8767.

Is TAM an all-ages conference?

While TAM is generally family friendly, not all content may be suitable for children, and parental discretion is advised. Registration is required for children 13 and up. Children 12 and under are not permitted in conference sessions.

Will there be child care at the conference?

No, child care will not be provided.  Please note: Registration is required for children 13 and up. Children 12 and under are not permitted in conference sessions.

Is there time available to explore what Las Vegas has to offer outside the conference area?

To maximize the value of a TAM registration, we try to keep the schedule as packed with education and entertainment as possible throughout the duration of the conference. However, some attendees enjoy excursions to restaurants, casinos, and shows in and around the Las Vegas area during their stay. Those who don’t want to miss anything TAM has to offer might be interested in scheduling some exploring time before or after the conference.

Will wifi be available?

Yes, wifi will be made available.

Is there a business center onsite?

Yes, the Tropicana Las Vegas does provide a full-featured business center.

LODGING

Is there a conference rate for the Tropicana Las Vegas?

Yes, a discounted conference rate of $79 weeknights and $109 weekend nights is available through June 19, 2015. The resort fee has been waived for our attendees, who will also be provided with complimentary in-room internet access.

Are there any overflow hotels?

TAM does not provide a list of official overflow hotels, though there are several affordable nearby hotels that may be able to accommodate TAM attendees.

AFTER THE EVENT

Will DVDs of the conference be made available for sale after TAM is over?

There are currently no plans to produce DVD sets of the event, but we may produce them in the future if there is enough public interest.
