About The Amaz!ng Adventure

The James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) has organized its annual conference-at-sea program, called Amaz!ng Adventures, since 2006, presenting educational sessions on cruises to the Bermuda Triangle, Alaska, the Galapagos Islands, Mexico, and the eastern Caribbean. The Amaz!ng Adventure 2012 will be a 7 day cruise of the Riviera Maya featuring educational sessions focused not only on 2012 doomsday prophecies, but also covering general topics surrounding science, skepticism and critical thinking about paranormal and supernatural claims.

About the JREF

The James Randi Educational Foundation was founded in 1996 to help people defend themselves from paranormal and pseudoscientific claims. The JREF offers a still-unclaimed million-dollar reward for anyone who can produce evidence of paranormal abilities under controlled conditions. Through scholarships, workshops, and innovative resources for educators, the JREF works to inspire this investigative spirit in a new generation of critical thinkers.

About James Randi

James Randi has an international reputation as a magician and escape artist, but today he is best known as the world’s most tireless investigator and demystifier of paranormal and pseudoscientific claims.

He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including a Fellowship from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and a one-hour PBS NOVA special on Randi’s major investigations.

He is the author of numerous books, including The Truth About Uri Geller, The Faith Healers, Flim-Flam!, and An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural. His lectures and television appearances have delighted — and vexed — audiences around the world.

In 1996, the James Randi Education Foundation was established to further Randi’s work. Randi’s long-standing challenge to psychics now stands as a $1,000,000 prize administered by the Foundation. It remains unclaimed.
